Not the most complex game, but great story telling and choices that really matter. Plus, fun art.. The game is grate :) The animation was well done and the story is enjoyable. The way you get your character ( skills in the game ) is very well made . It sorta reminds me of a well made puzzle , Altho im having a bug where the top of the screen is buggy. Other than that i enjoy the game. Despite its more redeeming qualities, Star Story: The Horizon Escape feels too easy. It's a fun game to relax with, especially if you want something that's sci-fi themed and has interesting, often funny dialogue, but it needs greater diversity in puzzle design and more engaging combat to capture player interest over a longer period of time.Read more here: http://gameranx.com/features/id/111186/article/star-story-the-horizon-escape-impressions-decent-spacefaring/. It's killing me but I can't give thumb up for this one, it is a good game but also buggy one.First when I started this game I've got window with information "ops game crushed.." but funny thing is that you can just click on game window and continue playing it without problem, but this was the fist red light.I was playing it for couple hours and it was fun but after couple resets of the story some relative parts gets more and more tedious, game sometimes even throw at you two exactly the same random encounter one after another but what really break game for me was... game breaking bug :) After another reset you start on the desert and after a while your character take out sand from his boot and teleport to base, problem is that after go out from the base I ended up just before checking bot for sand and automatically teleporting to base and no matter what I tried I was stuck in that loop only way out of this situation would be to start game once more and hope that I will not stuck somewhere again and I'm not looking forward to check my luck again.. A nice way to spend some time.. Fun game. Like a choose your own adventure story with light crafting and RPG elements. Got it on sale for about half price and it's worth that though I don't think I would pay the full price for it. Very fast, beat it in under 8 hours. I do reccommend it for a quick, fun game especially if you can get it on sale.. I'd been looking forward to this game for a while, but unfortunately the game makes little to no sense. As a text adventure, the game will succeed or fail on the strength of, well, it's text. And text here is just disconnected nonsense.I don't mean to say that it's merely 'silly'. I'm fine with silly. What I mean is that there seems to be a major disconnection between the various text boxes. An example (and this is word-for-word from a screenshot):[On your way you ran into a bulletin board. It had pictures with some numbers at the bottom on it. Apparently, those were bounties promised for capturing someone. In the center, you saw a rather detailed portrait with a message underneath, "This is Slug's order, do not loot. Take to the Big Boss's cave."Verdana archived that message.]So far, so reasonably ok. The sentence structure is awkward, and the grammar is a bit off. It's fine, none of that is a problem. We've run across a wanted poster that has a detailed picture of "someone" on it? How we pieced that together given that we've been on this planet all of 10 minutes is unclear, but whatever. Underneath, there are two choices of response (again, word for word):[Jeez, I've become a star! It's you who's going to get looted.]I'm sorry, what? It's a picture of me on the wanted poster? When did that happen? I thought that it was a picture of "someone" (ie NOT me)? Also, I've *literally* just crashlanded on this planet! Why is there a bounty on my head? Who saw me both up close and for long enough to create a detailed image of me? I've been moving forward pretty much non-stop since then, how did they get so far ahead of me, enough to set up this wanted poster?None of this makes any goddamn sense. And the game is *riddled* with this nonsense. The final straw was when after rescuing someone and teleporting away, we asked who they were and where we were now, and they responded with something like 'is this how people hook up these days?'..... What the f*ck?This game requires that I either ignore pretty much every second or third sentence, which (as a *text adventure*) makes the game a complete waste of time, or to spend way, way, *way* too much time trying to twist the sentences into some semblance of coherency.I'm pretty disappointed with this game, and regret all of the 20min I spent playing it. (the other 3 hours were from a Idle program getting the cards). The high ratings and fancy screenshots convinced me this was a really cool game, but after trying it out I wouldn't really recommend it to anyone.
